Lakes Basin

The Mammoth Lakes Basin is a family favorite destination for hiking, biking, fishing and more. Just a few miles up Lake Mary Road lies endless exploration and adventures (area transportation).

Enjoy all the fun found at Twin Lakes, the first lake you come to sitting at 8,500 feet. You can rent a boat or mountain bike from the shore-side resort Tamarack Lodge, as well as enjoy Mammoth's most intimate fine dining experience at The Lakefront restaurant, inside the lodge. Continue up the road (or on the paved bike path) to find Lake Mary, Lake Mamie and the mysterious Horseshoe Lake.

The Lakes Basin provides access to hiking trails suitable for all levels. Some popular hikes include: Duck Pass Trail, McLeod Lake Trail, Mammoth Crest Trail, TJ and Barrett Lake Trails and many, many more.

Find more information on the lakes, campgrounds and activities found in the Mammoth Lakes Basin on the Visit Mammoth site.
